NEW BAGUES WALL APPLIQUE
REFLECTS WELL ON AGOSTINO
Agostino Antiques, one of New Yorks preeminent antique houses, known for the finest examples of 18th and 19th century English and Continental antiques and antique reproductions has been selected to distribute the exclusive Bagues line of world famous lighting fixtures and wall sconces.
The Bagues Company, founded in 1840 in Paris by Noel Bagues, originally produced bronze fittings for churches. The advent of electricity in the nineteenth century moved the company toward the production of lighting. A reputation for the quality and style of its designs soon followed. Bagues lighting graced La Chambre de la Reine at Versailles, as well as the French Salon at Claridges Hotel in 1909 and the Dorchester hotel. Candelabra were commissioned for the Paris Ritz.
Featured is an exquisite mirrored gilt metal wall appliqué with beaded crystal shade and leaves. Leaf and vine decoration are motifs for which Bagues Company is world- renowned. Manufacturing facilities are located in Paris.
