FLYING CRANES SELLS IMPORTANT MIYA-O SCULPTURE
AT PACIFIC ARTS OF ASIA SHOW

Flying Cranes Antiques has sold a rare sculptural work by famous Meiji period artist, Miya-o, during the New York Arts of Pacific Asia Show.
The sculpture depicts a seated farmer in realistic detail, pouring libation from his gourd into a gilt cup. A bucket of vegetables and assorted fruits are gathered at his feet.
Jean Schaefer of Flying Cranes was pleased that the show generated post show sales at their galleries, #55, 56 and 58.
Known for the finest and the unusual Meiji Period metalwork, cloisonné, Satsuma, Studio Ceramics, Imari ware, lacquer, ikebana basketry and samurai weaponry, the firm has mounted exhibitions periodically of these artworks in gallery #58.
